About

Ewelina Skowronska is a Polish visual artist living and working in Tokyo.

Ewelina's works and art practice weave together various media, including painting, printmaking, dyeing, drawing, and working with clay. The overarching theme of her recent works is an inquiry into how we can re-establish a connection to the intangible and invisible aspects of our surroundings, thereby acknowledging our dependence on nature and shedding the anthropocentric perspective. Through the investigation of the potential of natural plant dyes, as well as their historical, herbal, and magical properties, Skowronska focuses on ephemeral and unspoken aspects, using a combination of different mediums to produce a unique and powerful contrast

Ewelina is co-founder of the ONA project room - an initiative that aims to support female artists based in Japan through a series of pop up style exhibitions.
