The female body is very often seen by women as imperfect, as something more difficult to love than to discredit. Not accepting it, however, is like denying the essence of our bodies as a whole. “Inner Moments” is new series of work where Skowronska takes a closer look at the carnality of the female form. Informed by her experimentation with ceramic figures and sculptural objects that she began working on in 2017. Here the artist concentrates more on feelings and emotions as opposed to narrative. Her sharply produced screen prints move away from showing the female body as a finite whole, instead suggesting a sense of space and fluidity to the viewer. The works focus on ephemeral and unspoken aspects, where the combination of screen printing and the delicacy of etching produces a unique and powerful contrast.
